Our Competition Prep is designed for experienced practitioners aiming to excel in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu competitions. This class offers a fast-paced, rigorous training environment focused on honing technical abilities and preparing students for the demands of BJJ tournaments.

Class Focus: These advanced classes emphasize high-level techniques and strategies essential for competition success. The format includes physically and mentally challenging workouts, situational sparring, and drills tailored to improve specific areas of weakness.

What to Expect:

  • Intense Warm-Up: Classes begin with a brief, fast-paced warm-up consisting of partner drills, sprints, and other activities to quickly raise the heart rate and prepare the body for rigorous training.
  • Varied Situational Sparring: Participants engage in situational sparring, focusing on specific scenarios to develop strategic responses.
  • Superfights: Observe and participate in “superfights,” where the class watches a single pair sparring to analyze techniques and strategies.
  • Targeted Drills: Engage in difficult drills and sparring sessions aimed at addressing individual and team weaknesses.
  • Competition Prep: Prepare for the physical and mental stress of large competitions through structured, intense workouts.

Class Structure:

  • Duration: Each class typically lasts 1 hour.
  • Frequency: Classes are scheduled multiple times a week, often integrated into competition camps leading up to major tournaments.
  • Attire and Equipment: Students wear attire relevant for their upcoming competition and high-intensity training. No shoes are needed as classes are conducted on padded mats, though sandals or slides are encouraged for easy on/off when moving to and from the training space. All necessary grappling equipment, such as mats and any props, will be provided.
